The Master Of Pain presents:

 A TI99/4A Disks Compilation Pack!

In this .zip archive you can find the following files:

 *.dsk - MESS/V9T9 disk containing TI99 programs;

 *.dis - The list of files (not available for all disks);

 *.txt - Info files associated to each disk with the list of programs and indications on how to run the program. For example:

 Name Size Type Attr Load With Game
 --------------------------------------------- ---------- -----------------
 240-COLORS         2   PROGRAM      330  U    XB         Demo (from book)
 3D-MAZE           17   PROGRAM     4345  U    TI Basic
 ASTRO-1           32   PROGRAM     8192  U    E/A OPT 5  Astro Fighter
 ASTRO-2           32   PROGRAM     8192  U
 ASTRO-3            7   PROGRAM     1692  U
 BSCSUP            14   DIS/FIX       80  U               Data file for Soccer
 CALCIO 3 PROGRAM 653 U EA+32K TI Basic Loader for Soccer
 LIFE 33 DIS/FIX 80 P E/A OPT 3 Game Of Life (Type LIFE to run the game)
 --------------------------------------------- ---------- -----------------

On the left there is the file name to use to load the program (e.g. you must type OLD DSK1.240-COLORS to run the "240 COLORS Demo" program). In the middle there is the disk space used (e.g. "240-COLORS" is 2 blocks on disk). The label "PROGRAM" is the TI file format and, finally, the last column indicates the configuration required to run the program. "XB" means that the TI Extended Basic is required. "TI Basic" means that the program does not run in Extended Basic, but only in TI Basic. "XB+32K" means that the program requires the 32K memory expansion.
If there is nothing it means that you can run it using TI Extended Basic (also if it's a TI Basic program).

If there is the "CALL FILES(1)" label you need to execute the CALL FILES(1) command to add some extra memory in order to load and run the program. The note "Memory Full!" means that the program is not able to run in TI Basic with the Disk System, but only with the basic TI console and CS1 tape. Some code rework is needed to run these programs... good luck!

The label "E/A OPT 5" means that you need to use the Editor/Assembler option 5 to load it. For example in "ASTRO-1" (there are 3 files for "Astro Fighter", the indication on "Load With" field is only written on the first file to use).
"E/A OPT 3" is for the Editor/Assembler option 3. It's also reported the name of the file to type if prompted (e.g. "LIFE" for "Game Of Life" program).

Depending on the size of the .dsk file (from 90K to 720K) you need to use a different controller configuration in MESS (I used only this emulator, simply because it's the best for Windows). Usually, 90K disks work with TI controller, 720K disks with Myarc and 360K with SNUG' BwG.
I did the work using MESS V0.106.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All the work to catalog the disks was done by The Master Of Pain in 2006 (started in May/June).
The disks were provided by Ermanno from Rome (Italy). They are from his disks collection, that he generously converted in PC format and sent to me. Thanks very much!
This work required a lot of effort and I hope it will be appreciated by other fans of the TI.
I decided to do it in order to contribute to the preservation of TI99 memory. The TI99/4A was my first computer and I still love it!
I invite all the TI friends to convert in electronic format & share disks, tapes, modules, books and reviews, in order to preserve them from wear due to age. It's the only way to preserve the memory of our preferred home computer! This does not harm authors of the programs, since more then 20 years are passed from programs marketing...
I want to great the following TI friends: Jason, Alfredo & Ermanno.
